Workshop in Greece: Scoliosis and Asymmetries

Urban Yoga Center

Marcia Monroe comes to Greece to present her long-awaited Yoga seminar on Scoliosis and Asymmetries. In this 13-hour seminar we will have the opportunity to learn how, with the help of Iyengar Yoga *, we can address spinal asymmetries and scoliosis. Marcia Monroe will also present ways in which asanas can be modified to meet the personal needs of each one of us. By following specific sequences of asanas that focus on the spine, we will be able to improve the length of the spine, its stability and strength. And always with breath awareness, for more effective alignment, concentration and balance.

The Iyengar system of Yoga has been known for its specific focus on alignment and the innovative use of props to make an in-depth approach accessible to asymmetries and scoliosis.

The seminar is aimed at:

  • Students of all levels

  • Teachers with or without scoliosis from any yoga system

  • Health professionals

Marcia Monroe is certified as a Yoga Teacher by the Iyengar System of Yoga. She has also been certified by the somatic methods of Body Mind Centering® and Feldenkrais®, RSMT. She has a degree in Dance and Movement Studies from the State University of New York, and is registered as Somatic Movement Therapist(ISMETA).
